Grants For Single Moms
-
With the economy slumping to a level previously not seen before in US history, many have found themselves struggling to pay the bills. This may include the monthly upkeep on cars, food, or little things of importance; like cell phones. The idea for single mom’s to consider investing for college, can now be seen by many as not “possible”. They have families, which require these hard laborers, to pay off all of the things mentioned first.
College is not only expensive, but it often carries a burden of intense homework. Single mother’s are in most situations, unable to juggle the intense amount of hours needed in order to graduate. Or perhaps, they may want to spend the left over amount of time with their kid’s? Which makes a whole lot of since, and if they already have two jobs, it is highly unlikely to think they would quite one anytime soon.
How can the “idea” of a stimulus package, or student grant, make things better as a whole? The answer, is simple.
The first burden would be taken care of immediately, which is paying for multiple class’s. Money which would normally be taken out of monthly groceries, or things of necessity, will no longer have to be. In other words, a little cash would be left afterwards, which could be spent on these interests instead. Better yet! The mother could enter college at a relatively low cost, and invest toward HER CHILD’S future.
All major burdens are resolved, if you seek out resources like these. My over all message, is that single mom’s should consider taking up some class’s, even if it’s only a couple each semester. There are ALWAYS opportunities to dedicate more in the future, so do not let this in itself be a deterrent of your success.
Going to college also sets a good example for one’s child. How fun would it be, to say after coming home each day ‘How did everything go?’. The son or daughter answers describing the series of events that had taken place at their school, and then you begin by telling how everything went for YOU! This is one reason single mom’s should consider going back, and taking a few class’s themselves. Even if for a short while, setting an example is key.
Most importantly of all, would be the money left over. Why you ask? It’s just a little extra cash, right? The answer, is yes and no. If seeking a college grant, loan, or whatever, is appropriate for you; then that also means there will be more time left over for the mother to spend with her loved one’s.
The over all goal of this article, is to encourage ANYONE that is thinking about going back, to utilize all the resources available first; so later on, financing it does not become an issue. If you have enough money saved up already, then go ahead and use it, leaving the door open for someone who needs the extra support. Other wise, with things being as grim as they are now, your best bet would be to take advantage of the opportunity and help make things easier. There are many different paths to doing this, the trick is, finding the right one for you.
Remember everyone saying STAY IN SCHOOL? It does not matter how much you have accomplished prior to college, the important thing is that you never give up. Best of luck to all single mothers out there. I am a single working male, and consider myself to be a single father. Not because I have children of my own yet, but what makes me one, is the idea of saving up for any which may enter my life in later on. One penny is all one needs, to consider themselves an investor.
