Program Methods and Design: Action plan
-
How will your project work and what are the methods. You will need to show a detailed plan of action.
1. Which activities will occur and which resources will be used, including manpower.
2. Divide your project to organizational features; show them in a flow chart. How will the parts will interact, where personnel will be needed and what will the personnel do. Specify the needed resources like transportation, facilities and support services.
3. Describe what will be achieved through outputs 1 and 2 above; i.e., plan for calculable results. Project personnel may be required to show evidence of program performance through an inspection of stated objectives. Federal inspectors will visit your site and will write reviews, which may involve peer review committees. It may be useful to develop a graph of the program plan. For instance, draw a three-column block. Each column is labeled by one of the parts (inputs, throughputs and outputs), and on the left (next to the first column) specific program characteristics must be specified (i.e., operation, staffing, procurement, and systems development).
Create a grid explain the program design, for instance, lets say the 1st column is headed inputs and the 1st row is headed staff. Let’s say you needed to advice homeless people, on the grid you will write 4 social advisors to operate homeless support unit. The throughput will be to supply food t homeless people on a daily basis, the outcome will be 20 homeless people are not hungry any more.
This form of practice will assist to conceptualize both the scope and features of the project.Justify your processes, make them economical but keep the fine quality. Remember these are the processes the grant will cover; these are the ones you will have to negotiate with the Federal program staff. If the processes are not carefully justified the negotiation will be harder and if the project is approved; less funds will be given and it will be harder to implement your project goals.
Make sure the features of your process are distinct from other offers, it will give you advantage on other proposals.
