Surgical Grants
-
Have you ever laid under a knife? If you have, then you must be knowing how much anxiety and doubt is present when undergoing a surgery. All the surgeries carrie some amount of risk. It varies with the extent of the disease and many other factors. The factor which is most important is the monetary factor. The moment a doctor breaks the news of surgery to the family, first thing that comes to mind is the expense. Not all surgeries are expensive. And not all patients have insurance to cover. So anyone who needs surgery who do not have a insurance cover or personal savings cannot be left alone to suffer or die. There must be some surgical grants and aids from the government to cover such patients. It is very important for the society that everyone who needs treatment and is not able to pay for it must me given some kind of help. It can be in terms of condoning his medical bills or, giving some kind of compensation.
Who must qualify for a surgical grant? This is a very important question that needs to be addressed. Because everyone cannot claim to be poor and needy to demand such a facility. Therefore, there must be clearly laid criteria about who does and who does not qualify for such a grant. Now, it is always not easy to assess someone’s economic status. For this government has certain directives. If we follow those, then we can provide good treatment to everyone.
Surgery is a very demanding condition both mentally and physically. Physical recovery happens over time, but person’s mind must not be troubled with unnecessary worries. So, it is a prime responsibility of every government to protect its citizens and this is what right to live says. Keeping this into consideration I urge the federal government, organizations and hospitals to provide surgical grants to whosoever needs it the most. May it a pregnant women who needs urgent caesarian section, or a patient with a penetrating trauma, rupture appendix and many other likes. No one in this situation with a insurance cover or enough savings would be able to clear their medical bill. So, if surgical grants are accessible many more lives can be saved.
